This product exists so the order shows as one tidy line at checkout that opens up to list the bottles inside, the same way the Tasting Box does.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis product is for ONE-TIME orders only. Subscriptions do not use it. A subscription case goes through three separate products instead, called Varty Case - 1 Case, Varty Case - 2 Cases and Varty Case - 3 Cases, managed by the Appstle Subscription app. That split exists because Shopify does not allow a bundle like this one to be sold on a subscription plan. Both routes still take the bottles off the same three flavour products, so your stock behaves the same either way. If you are looking at a subscription order and cannot find it here, that is why.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhy there are 28 versions. There are exactly 28 ways to split 6 bottles across 3 flavours: 6 and 0 and 0, 5 and 1 and 0, and so on down to 0 and 0 and 6. Each one is a recipe so Shopify knows which bottles to take off the shelf. It is one product with 28 recipes, not 28 products. Customers never see this list. They use the builder, pick their flavours, and the matching recipe is chosen automatically. An order of 2 or 3 cases is simply 2 or 3 of these.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eInventory: you stock bottles, not cases. This product holds no stock of its own. Nothing is ever counted or restocked here. Your real stock is the three bottle products: Varty Original, Varty Vanilla and Varty Barista. When a case sells, its bottles come off those three. To restock, restock bottles. Every number on this page recalculates itself.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat to ignore on this page.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Available column. It is not a count of anything. It is Shopify working out \"with the bottles on hand, how many of that exact mix could I pack\", so it can stop a customer ordering more than exists. It is a safety check Shopify does for itself, not a stock figure for you.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTotal inventory at the bottom. Shopify adds up all 28 of those answers, but they all describe the same bottles, so the total is meaningless. Ignore it entirely.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhy the Available figures do not match the arithmetic. All three bottles are set to keep selling when they reach zero, which is deliberate. Shopify treats a bottle that never runs out as unlimited, so it does not use those bottles to work out how many of a mix it could pack, and the Available figures on this page stop meaning anything useful. That is expected and it is not a fault. It has no effect on stock, on orders, or on what a customer can buy. Ignore the column.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat you can safely change here. The price, the image, the title and this description. To change the price for every mix at once, tick the box at the top of the variant list and edit them together.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhat you cannot change here. Which bottles a mix contains. Shopify has no button for that, it can only be set through the API. If a case size or a flavour ever changes, the recipes have to be regenerated. Ask before editing anything in the variant list beyond price.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhy the order looks the way it does at checkout. It is the mix of a single case: two of each flavour. Shopify prints the version name under every product line, the same way a shirt line shows \"Medium\". The x 3 beside it is how many of that case were bought.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSo both numbers are correct and they are describing different things:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e2 \/ 2 \/ 2 is one case, the recipe.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e18 items, 6 of each is the whole order: 3 cases x 2 bottles of each flavour.\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\u003cp\u003eMultiply the proportion by the quantity and you get the bottle list underneath. Nothing is duplicated or double counted, and the bottles listed at the bottom are exactly what gets packed and exactly what comes off stock.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eHow an order gets split into boxes. A case is always 6 bottles, so an order of 12 or 18 bottles becomes 2 or 3 boxes. The rule for deciding what goes in each box is:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWhole single-flavour boxes first. If a flavour reaches 6 or more, that is a full box of that flavour, so it is packed as one. 12 Vanilla becomes two boxes of 6 Vanilla.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThen the leftovers are pooled. Whatever remains is under 6 of each flavour, and it is spread evenly across the boxes still to be filled.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eWorked examples:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cul\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e2 Original, 12 Vanilla, 4 Barista becomes 6 Vanilla, 6 Vanilla, and 2 Original plus 4 Barista\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e12 Original, 4 Vanilla, 2 Barista becomes 6 Original, 6 Original, and 4 Vanilla plus 2 Barista\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003cli\u003e5 Original, 4 Vanilla, 3 Barista has no flavour reaching 6, so it simply pools: 3 plus 2 plus 1, and 2 plus 2 plus 2\u003c\/li\u003e\n\u003c\/ul\u003e\u003cp\u003eThis is why a customer can see two or three lines at checkout for one order. Each line is a real box. Identical boxes are grouped together, which is why one line can show a quantity of 2 or 3. The boxes listed are exactly what gets packed and exactly what comes off bottle stock.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eA subscription order looks different, and that is expected. A subscription arrives as a single line named after the case size, for example Varty Case - 2 Cases (12 bottles), with the flavours listed underneath as text. It is never split into several boxes the way a one-time order is. The bottles still come off stock individually.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eNothing to worry about, in short:\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSeveral lines at checkout is normal on a one-time order. It means the order needs several boxes with different contents.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe bottles listed under each line are the truth. They always add up to what the customer ordered.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eYou never manage this product's stock. Restock bottles and everything follows.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eThe Available column and the Total inventory figure on this page are Shopify talking to itself. Ignore both.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eSubscriptions are not managed here.
